Chan Legacy

Hi All!

Donald is already 1 year old. We had a big celebration for him at Secret Recipe with over 50 relatives and friends coming to bless him with best wishes, ang paos and beautiful presents. We had a fantastic time!

In retrospect, it had been a great year! My goal was to breastfeed him exclusively for 1 year and thereafter to allow him to self-wean. I am proud to say that even after 4 episodes of mastitis (breast infection), I am still going strong, still exclusively breastfeeding him. Of course he has started on solids, but I am glad to have nursing as a means of connecting and comforting him. It has brought us so so close, I enjoyed most the moments when he paused during nursing, looked up at me and smile the sweetest smile at me, reaching up with his small hands to touch my face. It simple melts my heart….

Having a child is so much fun, it IS having your heart walk outside you forever…:)
