As usual, the CNY celebrations here are quite elaborate. Â It started with the usual assembly, and it proceeded with a lion dance performance. Â This year, they invited the lion dance group from Nanyang Girls High. Â
Toria was terrified, hiding behind and hugging other aunties’ legs cos Mummy is busy taking pictures of her! Â I asked Daddy to come along, so Mummy was using the D300 and Daddy using the D3, busied ourselves with taking pictures of the 2 kids. Â Had to do that cos the kids are separated by class, so had to have 2 “paparazzi” to cover the event. Â We even took turns switching “targets” to capture different “interpretations”.

After the lion dance, there was a performance which Donald was a part of. Â That was recorded in the earlier post.
After that, there was a performance by the Pre nursery kids, very cute! Â There was also a skit put up by the teachers on the origin of Nian. Â But I didn’t take any pix of it. *sheepish*

Then, the kids went on their “rounds” by class. Â There were many stations set up, manned by parent volunteers. Â There were stations making Kueh Bahulu on the spot, even love letters, pineapple tarts etc. Â There was also a game station and a calligraphy station. Â Here are the pix of Donald and Toria.

Nearing the end, all the kids gathered together again for a sing-along session. Â They prepared smaller versions of the lion dance for the kids to have a chance to participate. Â The kids had so much fun!
