Chan Legacy

So fast!  Donald is almost 5 years old!  Beginning of Feb, he actually requested that he shower himself, and we decided to let him try.  He did a great job!  All I had to do was “lip service”! Stood outside the bathroom and guide him step by step on which gel to use, which part of his body he had missed etc.  I was just thinking at which age do kids start showering on their own… now I have my answer.  Just watching him, sigh… I realised that my little darling baby boy of yesterday is now a big boy… Time flies.. soon he will be primary one!  Must really treasure these times. 

Donald is old enough to request for a birthday party and even named friends he wanted to invite. I did wanted to hold one for him, since this year, his birthday happens to fall AFTER the entire 15 days of Chinese New Year. (Normally it falls within the 15 days, so with everyone busy with visiting, it was not very practical to hold a party.)  I was thinking of bakerzin? Fidgets? Sol Cafe? But in the end…… I decided to just have a BBQ celebration, family only.  (sorry Donald,  Mummy was too bogged down with baby liz…)

We ordered a photo cake from Sweet Secrets…. BAD IDEA.  The “royal chocolate” that we ordered was practically melting when we were ready to cut it.  We can’t even cut through the sugar layer on top!  The entire cake was a mess and no one would eat it! (Except the kids, happily scooping the mousse off!)  And it costs me nearly $50!  I had ordered a similar one for his school celebration, so I quickly called to cancel it.  Aiyoh…. big mistake.  I doubt I will ever order from them again.
