I had PERFECT PERFECT eyesight till 2004. I could see the bus number when the bus is still at the earlier bus stop! Hiaz… all changed since I gave birth to my first child. Not sure whether it is due to age, or due to the fact that I cried during my confinement, my eyesight is not PERFECT anymore.
I don’t have short-sightedness, nor long-sightedness, but I have astigmatism. Not very serious to warrant wearing spectacles, but it is SUPER bothering me. I had to strain my eyes when I’m on the computer, kept rubbing my eyes to clear the vision. Final straw was when it affected my driving. A car, 30m in front of me, and its number plate was a blur to me. Road signs were unclear to me. So I decided to get my eyes checked and prescribe a pair of spectacles for myself.
Went to Paris Miki, and choose a half rim, super light weight titanium one, cos I don’t like the feeling of something blocking my vision and the feeling of something “sitting” on my ears.
That night, Daddy drove me and the kids to pick up the specs. When I got back into the car, and tried on the specs… Donald started to cry!!!
“Waaahhhh… you look like Ah Ma! I don’t want you to look like Ah Ma, I want you to look like youself! waaaaahhhhh…”
“But Mummy can’t see properly, I need to wear it during driving, reading, playing computer…”
“ok… you can only wear them when you are (started to count fingers...) driving, reading, playing computer, other time, you cannot wear ok? I don’t want you to be ugly!!!! Waaaahhhh!”
LOL!!!
I noticed that it mattered to Donald that I looked good.
Once, when I came home after my manicure and pedicure, he saw my painted nails, he was so delighted. He would hold my hands ever so gently to observe my nails. When I shower him, he would ask me to be careful not to spoil my toe nails. When we are in the pool, he will comment on my pretty nails as he can see them in the water. When I removed the nail polish subsequently, he would noticed and ask “Mummy, what happened to your pretty nails? Not nice already…”

It is what they are used to. My son wants my glasses on! *lol*
This is because you started to blog after you gave birth to Donald, which means that you stare at the computer for long hours at short distances.
Try cutting down on staring at the computer screen for long hours on end?
This is also why I have astig, and chow still has perfect eyesight. Haha
