Today is Oma’s birthday. Â For the past almost 10 years that I had married into the family, we had always celebrated her birthday on the 17th April every year. Â It is her birthday as she had recalled, but this year she told us that she had remembered wrongly. Â Based on her chinese lunar birthdate, her birthday should be on the 14th instead! Â So for so many years now, we had celebrated her birthday late! Â And to think that she was quite particular about not celebrating birthday late, she said it is only for the deceased. Â So I joked with her, we had celebrated it late for her for so many years, she is still so happy, strong and healthy, so such a “belief” is really a myth.
