We were already booked for a 8 days trip to Tokyo on the 29th May, but due to the H1N1 outbreak, we decided to monitor the situation but all bookings were still on “go”. Â Until the final few days, the outbreak spread to Tokyo… Alas, what was not meant to be… we had to cancel the entire trip, thankfully it only costed us about SGD20.
Looks like Mummy is not meant to go to Japan… hiaz. No affinity??
6 years back, my sister, my colleague Sze En and I, took up Japanese classes in JCS (Japan Cultural Society), I topped my class almost every time, even had a certificate presented to me by the Japanese Ambassador in Singapore.  But within 1 year, armed with very little knowledge of the language, my sister left to teach english in Kobe.  Soon after, Sze En took up an admin post in a school in japan.  All I could do was only to take classes in singapore, and even that I had to stop when I had Donald.  By now, both of them are “fee lee fare lare” (ie very fluent) in their japanese, both are back in SG and employed in positions that require them to use their excellent japanese language skills.. me leh?  Can’t even make it to japan… BIG HIAZ…
So anyway, Â Daddy got his wishes (and mummy “dio pian” ie was bluffed), to go for a driving trip all the way up to Penang and back. Â Oh… I really don’t like that! Â Drive ALLLL the way up there just to eat Penang Laksa, Char Kway Teow, Prawn noodles, when all those can be found here!!! hiaz.. but what to do? Â Everywhere seemed unsafe.
So Daddy drove (overnight, from 1030pm – 7/8am the next day), all by himself, to Ipoh for breakfast, then continued to Penang. Â Stayed 2 nights there.
Then we drove to Genting highlands. Â Stayed 2 nights there.
Then we drove to Malacca. Â Stayed 2 nights there.
Drove by Muar to have some food, then it was all the way back to Singapore.
Pictures coming right up!
