Chan Legacy

Out of the blue today, Donald had a nose bleed.

We were in the car, on the way home, when suddenly, blood just spurted out from his nose.  It splattered all over the place… on the seat, on the seatbelt, on his clothes… gave us a fright!  I thought nose bleeding is just drips of blood slowing coming out of the nose, not splutter splatter like this?

Then I remembered I read in “What to expect during the Toddler Years” Book that you shouldnt ask them to put their head up, instead, get them to pinch their nose with a tissue, and bow their head, so that the blood don’t flow back into their throat, to prevent choking on their own blood.

He had to hold his nose for a quite a long while before the bleeding stop.  But we read that nose bleeding in children is quite common, so if there isn’t frequent recurrence, it should be alright, so we were not that worried.  If I didn’t know that, I might had brought Donald to the A & E!!  Oma was worried though…
