Chan Legacy

This is nothing short of a miracle, a gift from God, because until now we still don’t know how it happened!

I’m pregnant. 

Yes…with our 4th kid.  Our Chan Junior 4.

Planned?  Nope!  Major accident!

We had wanted to stop at 3.  But deep in my heart, I did wanted 4, to me, that would be perfection, because I wanted even numbers. Somehow, I know I would have some regrets if we had stopped at 3.  But even if we wanted 1 more, we were planning for 2012, a dragon baby, like me.  So precautions were taken.

We used the C_____ method and the W__________ method.  Daddy was concerned with the business, and wanted my full attention and energy to run it, so he didn’t really want to risk a pregnancy.  Of cos, the methods were not entirely fail proof, but I remembered telling Daddy that we weren’t one of those couples that get pregnant easily, so no worries.  Over confident…LOL!

It’s Tuesday today.  Let’s recap the events leading up to today.

On Saturday, we drove up to KL to see some customers, and in the car, I was nauseous because I was hungry.  I still remember joking with Daddy that I might be pregnant, he brushed it off and said that I was just hungry, because in recent months, I was easily nauseous, whether by hunger, or by brushing my teeth.  Hmm… I wonder why?  My body was preparing me for this? 

On Sunday night, I had a dream.

In my dream, I dreamt that I was going to visit my gynae, Dr Chin, to tell her that I’m pregnant again… with my 4th kid.  And I was excited to be doing the ultrasound scans again.  In my dream, the feeling was great, the feeling of knowing that I’m pregnant with my 4th kid…

On Monday morning, I pondered over the dream and posted this in my Facebook,

“had a dream last night that I was pregnant with my 4th kid! LOL! is it normally the opposite? But I felt good in the dream…hmmmm”

From Stephanie: Hey, u still young, shld go for it! It could be a sign…o r something tat alrdy in your mind

My m_____ was actually due on Monday, and it didn’t come.  My body had always been super accurate, with +-1-2days, so I thought nothing of it.  I wanted to test, but I had no time to go out and get the test kit.

On Tuesday,  I went to Takashimaya for a hair cut.  Just before I came home, I dropped by Watsons to buy a test kit.  I wanted to buy the cheap ones, thinking that it would most likely be negative.  But on the other hand, I didn’t want to be “unsure”,  so I bought the most expensive one, the one that says “Pregnant” or “Not Pregnant”.  Save me another trip… in case.

When I reached home, Oma was there (my mother in law), but my hubby was not home yet.  I went to the bathroom, thinking whether to test now or tomorrow morning.  Then I decided that I shall not wait, just try lah…anyway, the box has 2 sticks.

So I used 1 test stick.  I didn’t really look at it immediately, cos I was thinking it must be negative, so it will take a while to register that.  But when I had a quick glance at it, the response on the test kit was “PREGNANT”!  The kit responded so fast that I must had been quite pregnant

In the bathroom, you can’t imagine my reaction! Shocked… astonished…mouth wide opened…heart fluttered…amazed…”how can it be?”…lost for words…surprised… and next thing you know, I was giggling to myself.

I walked out of the room, thinking whether I should tell my mother in law.  I popped my head into the living room where she was, and said “Oma…guess what?” and it took a long while to get it out…”I’m pregnant…”

Oma’s first reaction was…. “Oh no!  Then how???”  I exclaimed…. “what kind of reaction is that?” LOL!  I think she must have had a few concerns… firstly, what’s going to happen to my business?  Secondly, baby is going to be born in the tiger year, which she wasn’t exactly pleased.

I then turned to Donald and said “Your prayers came true… you are going to have another baby brother or sister!”  Donald was wide-eyed and excited!  He had been praying to God for another baby brother, so that he has another boy to play with.

Next thing you know, he heard the neighbour opening her door, he immediately opened our door and to my greatest surprise and horror… he told our neighbour “My mummy is having a baby!”

I rushed to the door and had to chat with my neighbour over this news, and Donald rushed back inside, picked up the house phone and called Daddy and told him!  I had to say bye to my neighbour, and rushed to the phone to explain to Daddy, who was equally flabbergasted.

For the whole evening, Donald just called every single person on my family phone list on the wall and told everyone!  And then I had to explain myself… soo funny!

That night, I posted in facebook,

“oh..my…God… my dream came true… flabbergasted…”

Until now, daddy and I, we are still awed by how it happened. Not that I look forward to pregnancy, I don’t, but I look forward to our 4th and last baby. Now… this is PERFECTION.
